What's Included with Hosting
Every Panther & Cub Hosting plan — whether pooled, private, or enterprise — comes with a core set of managed features. These are the basics that keep your site or app secure, updated, and running smoothly.
Storage
Every plan includes two types of storage working together:
VPS Storage (Your Working Space):
- Pooled: 5 GB included
- Private: 40–160 GB (full VPS disk)
- Enterprise: 256 GB – 2+ TB (full server disk)
- This is where your live site, databases, and app files run.
- Need more? Pooled clients pay $5 AUD/10 GB. Private/Enterprise clients can expand via Hetzner volumes.
Backup & Media Storage (Offsite):
- Included in all plans — no separate charge for standard usage.
- Powered by Cloudflare R2 (S3-compatible object storage).
- Used for: automated backups, media assets, static files.
- Zero egress fees (unlike AWS S3).
- Typical usage: 5–50 GB per client (well within included limits).
You don't need to think about this — VPS storage is your "working space" and backup/media storage is handled automatically. Both are included in your monthly fee.
If your app requires exceptional R2 storage (e.g., user-generated content platforms, media libraries 100+ GB), we'll quote this separately based on actual usage. This is rare and only applies to specialized use cases.
SSL Certificates
- Free SSL for all domains via Let's Encrypt.
- Auto-renewal handled by our platform.
- No manual setup or yearly costs.
- Wildcard SSL supported for subdomains (*.yourdomain.com).
- Multiple domains on one VPS supported.
- Custom/purchased SSL certificates can be installed on request.
Backups
- Automated backups of all site files and databases.
- Retention policy:
- Pooled: daily backups, 7–14 day retention.
- Private: daily backups, 30 day retention.
- Enterprise: configurable retention & offsite replication.
- Disaster recovery supported — we can restore from snapshots if needed.
Backup access:
- Self-service downloads available on request.
- Backups provided as .tar.gz (files) + .sql (database).
- Restoration: contact support, usually completed within 1 hour.
Updates
- Application dependencies and framework updates as needed.
- Security patches for the underlying server stack.
- Container images updated regularly with critical fixes.
Monitoring
- Basic uptime checks included for all plans.
- If downtime is detected, we get alerted first and respond immediately.
- You can monitor uptime via your dedicated status page (bookmark or subscribe for alerts).
- We'll contact you via email/WhatsApp for critical issues.
- Optional add-on: advanced monitoring (per-app metrics, performance).
What we monitor:
- HTTP/HTTPS uptime (1-minute intervals).
- SSL certificate expiry.
- Disk space usage (alerts at 80%).
- CPU/RAM for private VPS clients.
Support Coverage
Our managed hosting covers:
- Keeping your hosting environment up to date.
- Ensuring your SSL, backups, and updates run correctly.
- Restoring from backups in the event of failure.
- Answering hosting-related questions.
What's Not Included
Managed hosting is not a substitute for unlimited dev/design hours.
Not included in monthly hosting:
- Major design or development changes
- Content edits or new features
- Ongoing SEO, marketing, or third-party integrations
