Password Page
The Password Page system provides a customizable coming soon/password-protected interface for your store before it goes live.
It includes the main password page, reset password functionality, and supports various content blocks like newsletter signup, custom text, images, and HTML.

Components
The password page system consists of three main components:
- Password Layout — The base template for password-protected pages
- Main Password Section — The primary content for the password page
- Reset Password Template — For customers to reset their passwords
Main Password Page Settings

Login Form

Custom HTML

Logo

Reset Password Template

Setup Instructions
Customizing Your Password Page
- Navigate to your Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes
- Click Customize on your current theme
- From the dropdown menu at the top, select "Password page"
Adding Content Blocks
- Click "Add block" to add a new content element
- Choose from available block types (Login form, Text, Newsletter, Custom HTML, Logo)
- Configure the block settings
- Use the drag handles to reorder blocks as needed
Setting Up Background and Navigation
- Add a background image for visual appeal
- Configure up to three navigation links for important pages (e.g., contact, about, social media)
- Enable/disable social icons and copyright notice as needed

Visual Appeal
- Use a high-quality background image that represents your brand
- Maintain consistent spacing between content blocks (20-30px recommended)
- Ensure text is readable against your background (add overlay if needed)
- Test on multiple devices to ensure responsive design
Content Strategy
- Keep messaging concise and clear about your launch timeline
- Include a newsletter signup to collect leads before launch
- Consider adding social links to build your audience

Your password page is often the first impression potential customers get. Make it count by clearly communicating your value proposition and launch timeline.
Troubleshooting
Background image not displaying:
- Ensure the image is high resolution (at least 1920px wide)
- Check that the image file isn't corrupted
- Verify the image is uploaded correctly
Login form issues:
- Verify your store password is correctly set in Shopify settings
- Check that password protection is enabled
- Clear browser cache and try again
Newsletter not working:
- Check that you have a working email marketing app connected
- Verify Shopify's customer account settings
- Test with a different email address
Mobile display problems:
- Test on multiple devices and adjust content spacing as needed
- Reduce logo size for mobile if it appears too large
- Check that text is readable on small screens
Password Protection Settings
Remember that the password page settings in the theme editor are separate from enabling password protection for your store:
- To enable password protection, go to Shopify admin → Settings → General
- Scroll down to "Password protection"
- Enable password protection and set your password
- Save changes
Don't share your store password publicly. Only provide it to team members, testers, and trusted partners during development.
