Hosting Questions
What does “managed” mean?
Panther & Cub provisions and administers the Provider-controlled hosting environment described in the Order. It does not mean that every application, dependency, integration, security issue, backup, restore, update, or content change is included.
Which infrastructure provider do you use?
Panther & Cub commonly uses third-party infrastructure such as Hetzner, with the provider, server, and region identified where material to the Order. Provider availability, products, regions, and pricing can change.
Do I own my data?
The customer retains its rights in customer data, subject to the applicable agreement. The customer is responsible for lawful content, account control, independent backups, retention requirements, and exporting required data before service ends.
Are backups included?
No, unless an Order expressly defines the backup system, storage, frequency, retention, monitoring, restore testing, and recovery work. A provider snapshot or incidental copy is not a substitute for an independent, tested backup.
Is uptime guaranteed?
No specific availability, response, recovery-time, or recovery-point target applies unless it is expressly stated in a signed Order or service-level agreement. Third-party providers, networks, applications, software, customers, and security events can affect availability.
Can the server be upgraded later?
Usually, subject to provider availability and technical constraints. Some changes require migration or interruption. Panther & Cub will confirm the new configuration, fee, work, and expected impact before proceeding.
Will a migration have downtime or preserve everything?
Not necessarily. Downtime, DNS propagation, data synchronization, redirects, rankings, integrations, and compatibility depend on the source environment and agreed migration plan. Review the Migration Checklist.
Do you manage domains and DNS?
DNS or domain assistance can be included in an Order. The customer should retain ownership of the registrar account and ensure renewal and billing remain under its control unless a different arrangement is expressly documented.
Do you provide business email?
Panther & Cub can configure or administer a third-party email service under a separate Order. Email is not provided by the web-hosting subscription itself. See Email and DNS.
How do I report a problem?
Use the incident route in your Order or onboarding materials. If it is unavailable, follow Support and Incident Reporting.
What happens when hosting ends?
The Order and Managed Hosting Service Terms govern the effective date, final charges, suspension, and deletion. Export all required data before service ends; do not assume an undocumented retention or recovery period.
